WS7FM Foil Winding/Welding Machine

Model WS7FM is a free standing foil winding machine with built in semi automatic or automatic welding for terminations.

Basic features: Machine is constructed from heavy duty steel box tube and 5mm sheet steel, and is designed for the winding and welding  of aluminium and copper foil transformers. An unusual feature of the machine is its ability to weld large cross section bus bars to foil (the reverse being usual), this allows for very quick processing of multi tapped transformers. The machine features independently powered foil stand, one or two powered insulation carriers, full manual or automatic tracking of foil and insulation. Powered width cutting devices for insulation with waste collection. Swinging tailstock for ease of loading. End pile carriers. Powered cooling for finished weld and full extraction hood.

The process: The foil is wound onto the former under tension, the operator marks the position for the termination, the machine is then reversed under tension to move the marked foil back into the welding machine. The bars are clamped into position and welded using the twin powered traverse torches. When the welding is complete it is automatically cooled by a powerful jet of air and the welded foil maybe handled within the space of a few minutes and wound back onto the former into the exact position required with no loss of tension.
