Since 1991, Winding Services Ltd. has specialised in designing and manufacturing winding machines, with over 25 years dedicated to the superconductive industry. Our family-owned company, based in Leicester, has built a reputation for creating bespoke solutions that meet the demanding requirements of superconductive applications, alongside projects in MRI, aerospace, defence, and transformer manufacturing.

Every winding machine we produce is manufactured to order, ensuring that customer-specific needs are incorporated from the very first design stage. All new machinery is supplied with a comprehensive two-year parts and labour warranty.

In addition to new builds, we have extensive experience rebuilding and upgrading customers’ existing machines to an “as new” standard, integrating the latest control equipment and switchgear. Rebuilt machines carry a one-year parts and labour warranty, and can be customised with customer-driven modifications or upgrades.

Our repair service covers most makes and models of winding machinery, regardless of age, with particular expertise in control system repair and fault finding.

Major projects include the manufacture and installation of a 30-tonne superconductive winding machine with full electronic tensioning, super-con insulation lapping machines and multiple HTS tape winding and tensioning equipment.
